The Solid
Foundation of Biblical Truth
Matt. 7:21-27
·
Here
are two houses that look very much alike, but their foundations are very
different.
·
One
man’s house will stand and the other will be destroyed.
·
All
counterfeits look like the real thing; but they are worthless, fraudulent, and
bring great trouble.
·
If
the man who built on sand had known how great the destruction, he perhaps might
not have built upon sand
·
Would
you rather be wise or foolish?
Two types of Theology:
1.
Rock
Theology: hearing the words
(instructions) of Jesus and doing exactly what He says
2.
Sand
Theology: hearing the words
(instructions) of Jesus and not doing what He says
a.
perhaps
one does nothing
b.
perhaps
one thinks he has a better way and does something else
c.
perhaps
one wants to do his own thing
d.
perhaps
one does what he feels is right
3.
You
are choosing to be wise or foolish when you choose your foundation.
4.
Just
any old foundation won’t do!
5.
The
bridges over the South Canadian River (1976)
a.
the
old one built before 1920 was narrow, rough and frightening; but had a foundation reaching more than 75
below the surface of the waters
b.
the
new one was wide and smooth but only 35 feet below the waters
c.
when
the new one fell, the old one was still standing

Conclusion
1
Cor. 15:1-3
we
must receive it, stand in it, be saved by it
