The work of personal evangelism, whether in one’s own neighborhood or
on foreign soil, demands preparation. An
effective worker needs to prepare his heart, his spiritual life, and his mind
for the task ahead.
The design of this handbook was for the campaigner who on foreign soil
had nothing but his Bible and his memory.
Since no single book was available to deal with the multitude of
questions and difficulties that a seeker might ask, we determined to build an
expandable book covering a wide variety of topics.
We wanted a concentrated book with large amounts of information in an
economical format. The notebook
format and pagination allowing users to customize their handbook to their own
needs seemed best able to meet our goals.
A campaigner may feel free in this manner to add and subtract materials
as it suits his interests and abilities.
This handbook is not copyrighted, nor shall it be.
It may be freely used, copied and distributed by those who are doing
the Lord’s work, providing they give the authors credit.
The “Upon the Rock” Bible study series in paper (and in PC format)
have been used throughout the United States and in many foreign countries to
reach lost souls. Free copies for
reproduction are available from the author.
There is no greater work in the world than soul winning. This handbook
is dedicated to those who are willing to carry the gospel to people who need
and want it. I especially want to
thank Patrick Spence, who has encouraged me in the task of writing this
handbook. I also thank Jimmie
Tullis for his great interest in the PC versions of the “Upon the Rock”
Bible Studies. He has labored
long and hard to prepare the program. With deep appreciation for the brethren
at Walnut St. Church of Christ in Texarkana, Texas, who inspired the need for
this handbook, and with lasting appreciation to Concord Rd. Church of Christ
in Brentwood, Tennessee, for their support of campaign work, may God be
praised and glorified.
For
the challenge of the cross,
